Privacy policy

Information we handle

• Account information: your account identifier, name, email address, verification status, and authentication information supplied through Clerk. If you choose Google or GitHub sign-in, Clerk receives the identity information authorized by that provider. AImaxx does not receive your Google or GitHub password.
• Learning information: saved answers and drafts, quiz results, flashcard ratings, review schedules, completed activities, project links, study preferences, XP, and streaks.
• Operational information: request and security information processed by our hosting and authentication providers, usage counters, AI spending reservations, and administrative change records. These support access controls, reliability, and abuse prevention.

How information is used

We use this information to sign you in, keep each learner’s progress separate, personalize study and review, display learning statistics, enforce access and spending limits, investigate failures, and respond to support or privacy requests. Owner reports include aggregate learning activity and account counts.

Service providers

Clerk provides authentication and account management. Heroku provides application hosting and PostgreSQL database storage for the hosted service. Google and GitHub provide optional sign-in methods. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices, and may process it outside your country.

Optional AI tutor

The AI tutor is currently disabled. If enabled later, tutor questions, submitted answers, and relevant learning context may be sent to the selected AI provider to generate feedback. We will update this notice to identify that provider before enabling the feature. Do not submit passwords, API keys, confidential employer material, or sensitive personal information in learning answers.

Cookies and browser storage

Clerk uses cookies and related browser storage to maintain sign-in and security. AImaxx also uses application state to support the learning experience. We do not currently integrate advertising trackers or Google Analytics. Browser or provider privacy settings may affect authentication.

Retention and deletion

Saved learning information is retained to support your account until it is reset or deleted. You can request account deletion or a copy or correction of your information by emailing the contact below. When a Clerk account is deleted, AImaxx’s deletion workflow removes its stored learner profile and learning progress. Minimal deleted-account identifiers, security records, administrative audit entries, and usage or spending records may remain to prevent account recreation through stale requests and preserve security and financial controls. Provider logs and backups follow their own retention schedules; deletion from backups may not be immediate.

Sharing and security

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared with the service providers needed to operate the application, and may be disclosed when required by law or to address security incidents. Access controls, encrypted connections, and owner MFA help protect the service, but no system can guarantee complete security.

Children and policy updates

AImaxx is intended for adult learners and is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We may update this notice as the application changes; the effective date above identifies the latest revision.
